Strengthening Your Character's Foundation

 

A character's strength depends mostly on Level and Equipment.

 

Beyond these factors, you can also make your character stronger through steady training and accumulation in the game. Each of these factors, known as "foundation building", gives only a small effect and takes quite a lot of time and cost, but as you stack them one by one, they combine into enormous synergy.

 

 

1. The Importance of Martial Art and Special Skill Levels

 

Martial Art Level is a factor that greatly affects your character's attacks.

 

You gain EXP every time you use a martial art, and most martial arts can grow from 1 star to 12 stars. Each time the star grade rises, the MP cost increases, but so does the martial art's damage multiplier or effect value. Attack martial arts in particular are extremely efficient: unlike other damage-boosting mechanics, which are additive, they are multiplied by your Attack.

 

If you Level Up too quickly, your Martial Art Level may be low for your hunting ground, and you will hunt more slowly than others at a hunting ground suited to your Level. If you take too long to defeat monsters of your own Level, check whether your Martial Art Level is too low. Martial Art Level rises faster with Consumables that increase Martial Art EXP, and normally EXP builds up with each use against monsters of a suitable Level.

Combat Special Skills also have a big impact on your character's performance. They unlock for training based on conditions such as Level or Job Advancement. Combat Special Skills tied to your main weapon in particular raise Attack directly, making them a perfect complement to your Martial Art Level.

 

 

Learning these Special Skills takes a lot of Skill Points, but the Skill Points you get from monsters at or below your character's Level drop sharply, so you should hunt monsters with a higher Level than yours. That's why some players boost efficiency by resetting their Level through Rebirth, or by deliberately dying over and over to lower their Level and then hunting again.

 

 

2. Rebirth for Extra Stats and Steady New Growth

 

Once your Level reaches a certain point, even against monsters with the same Level gap as before, your hunting speed slows, your chance of earning stat points drops, and your EXP and Skill Point gain efficiency declines as well. In this situation, Rebirth is another way to help you grow quickly.

 

From Level 50 and up, you can undergo Rebirth using a Reborn Scroll sold in the Item Mall. On Rebirth, your Level resets to 1 and the stats gained from Level Up are reset.

 

Even after Rebirth, you can still use most Equipment that has no Level restriction, and the Special Skills you have learned remain, so the early game is stronger than when you first created your character. You also gain permanent bonus stats, which raise your character's base performance as well.

 

● Rebirth at Level 50~59: Bonus All Stats +2

● Rebirth at Level 60~69: Bonus All Stats +8

● Rebirth at Level 70+: Bonus All Stats +20

※ Bonus stats from Rebirth can accumulate up to 100 per stat only (400 in total).

 

 

Taking advantage of this, after Rebirth you can hunt in hunting grounds of a much higher Level. Defeating monsters with a large Level gap gives more EXP and Skill Points, so you also learn Special Skills more efficiently. You also get another chance to enter Dungeons that your stats could handle but that were locked by the Level cap, which gives you an edge in farming.

 

Generally, once you have maxed out the bonus stats at 100, there is no need to Rebirth again. However, doing Rebirth to earn Skill Points more easily or to farm more efficiently is another option.

 

 

3. Don't Forget Collections

 

Collections let you permanently gain extra Stats by using up items you no longer need. Collections in the [Beginner] category in particular mostly need only a few materials. Using high-value items on Collections isn't worth it, but completing Collections with items you can get for a small amount of Silver Coins helps build your character's foundation.

 

Seasonal events also feature Collections you can complete with event items. These Collections, in the [Others I] category, last only 1 year but grant fairly high Stats, so try to complete them every event season.

 

Collections that require high-grade materials grant special effects, such as Stats for hunting in the Black Region or better potion recovery, but they are costly if you invest in them early. We recommend investing in Equipment first, then taking them on once you need more Stats and have resources to spare.
